Have you ever...

....ordered a meal in a restaurant and not REALLY known what you were getting?

Well, we did tonight!

Yes, that's raw duck and chicken on my plate on the right!

You should have seen MRPnP's face when our plates of raw meat arrived!

Luckily for him, the waitress returned with a hot 'stone' for us to cook on!

My chicken and duck were fabulous!

Cooked expertly by me!

And MrPnP was pretty happy with his seafood combo!

We were given special little 'knives' to turn out meat with!

He has been missing out on his 'chefs' duties while we've been away!

Anyway, sometimes it does pay to be a bit adventurous!

That's one aspect of holidaying in a foreign country I really love!

Tonight's dinner was an experience I'll never forget!

Happy days!

SUZ

(PS- I had chocolate crepes for dessert!  No, not crepe suzette!!!)

Eating different food is one of my favourite things about travelling. Your meal looks wonderful, not just tasty but an experience too!!

your meal sounds delicious and fun. Hopefully no ill effects like I had in Seattle...food poisoning is not a fun way to end a holiday!

That is so funny. We went for a meal once with some friends, she told us we would be cooking our own meal...what!! Then she brought a Raclette to the table, it's usually put in the centre of the table and everyone cooks their own meat, it has little spades (don't know how else to describe them) that fit underneath, you put your cheese on that to melt, we have since bought one for when family come to stay - it's always a good talking point and quite nice for the hostess too who doesn't have to stand and cook for hours beforehand.... It's all good fun here LOL, so glad you didn't have to eat raw duck!!!

Did you have to cook the crepes yourselves as well?? Maybe they gave the chef the night off! Bon appetit!
