Playing Hooky!

With my Bricolage quilt my second finish for 2012, I decided to celebrate by

taking it on its first photo shoot!

(Warning: Photo-heavy post follows.......)

Helen and I spent a fun hour or two at The Briars, in Mount Martha.

Hey, someone is running away with my quilt!

Now for the close -ups!
Great staging idea Helen- those acorn caps!

And some of my favourite blocks.....

The back and the binding!

Ooops! It's on its side!

Can you tell I love this quilt?

And a back lit shot......

And while we were out walking look what we saw....

a little black wallaby!

I told him I'd be back when my next overseas visitors arrive!

And one lasting parting look!

Holy cow, look at that quilt! Beautiful. We had someone bring a sick Wallaby into one of the vet clinics I used to work at, here in the states. I did a HUGE double-take. I think our vet did a pretty good job, considering it wasn't an exotics clinic. :P

What a beautiful post! Your quilt is lovely....I have one that is so similar ...made from blocks swapped over the internet in the same colors. I especially like your flying geese in the two corners. Seeing your beautiful Australian landscape is awesome, Suz. Thanks for not leaving out a single shot!

I'm so glad to see this finished quilt. I had so admired your fabric and colour choices earlier. We share a great attraction to these colours. For me I think it stems back to when I was a child and every year when I got new keds (or something like them), they had to be lime green and the reason was because when I was swinging and was high in the air, I liked to hold my feet up so I could enjoy the look of the bright green of my sneakers against the bright blue of the sky. Silly but I have always loved this particular colour combo.

The quilt is a beaut regardless! Congrats!
